JOB OVERVIEW:
Jostens is seeking a talented and motivated Operations Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Linux environments to join our dynamic team. As an Operations Infrastructure Engineer - Linux Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our Linux-based systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and support various business applications and management tools crucial to Jostens' operations.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain Jostens' Linux-based infrastructure, including servers hosting critical business applications and management tools.
Install, configure, and optimize Linux systems to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Linux systems with existing infrastructure components and ensure seamless operation and performance.
Implement security measures and best practices to protect Linux environments from threats and vulnerabilities, leveraging modern security tools and compliance standards.
Utilize Spacewalk, Ansible, AWX, and Grafana monitoring systems for server lifecycle management, automation, and performance monitoring.
Participate in database management tasks, including managing databases running on Linux virtual machines (VMs) within VMware environments.
Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides tailored to Jostens' Linux environment.
Provide technical support and assistance to internal users, troubleshooting and resolving Linux-related issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to support and enhance Jostens' Linux infrastructure.
Participate in an on-call rotation as the first line of support for all Infrastructure incidents outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in operations engineering, with a focus on managing and supporting Linux environments.
Proficiency in Linux administration, including installation, configuration, and ongoing administration tasks.
Strong knowledge of Linux administration, including command-line operations, package management, user administration, and file system management.
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash for automation and system administration tasks.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware for managing virtualized Linux environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Spacewalk, Ansible, AWX, and Grafana monitoring systems.
Experience with database management on Linux environments.
Understanding of security compliance standards and modern security tools for Linux environments.
